Asvat, specializing in Maritime Law, Ship Finance, Corporate Law, Commercial Law and Banking Law, he co-heads the Shipping Department of the firm. He has more than 25 years\u2019 experience in handling the maritime and corporate interests of top ship owning companies, ship managers, international banks and financial institutions from several different jurisdictions of Europe, United States, Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Providing assistance to clients from the firm&#8217;s Panamanian head office as well as from its branch office in London when required under an annual basis, he additionally serves as partner in charge of the Belize branch office.<\/p><p>He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Law and Political Sciences from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua of Panama; an L.L.M. in International Banking Law from the Boston University Law School; a Master in Diplomacy and International Relations from Universidad de Costa Rica, Instituto Manuel Mar\u00eda de Peralta; an International Diploma in Negotiation, Treaties and International Trade, from Universidad de Santiago de Chile; and he also attended the Program of Instruction for Lawyers- Negotiation Workshops at Harvard University Law School.<\/p><p>Belisario is a member of the Panama Bar Association, where he served as Director from 2005 to 2007; the Panama Maritime Law Association, where he held the Presidency during the periods 2015\u20132016 and 2016\u20132017; and the German Chamber of Commerce of Panama.<\/p><p>He has authored the \u201cTrends and Developments\u201d section of the Chambers Global Practice Guide for Shipping Law, Panama Chapter since 2018.
